Femur fracture and hip joint wear

This model was developed to support a comprehensible explanation to the patient, for example before an operation. It shows the right hip joint (half life size) of an elderly person. In addition, a frontal section of the femoral neck is shown in relief on the base. The model shows the most frequently occurring femoral fractures in practice as well as the typical wear symptoms of the hip joint (coxarthrosis or osteoarthritis of the hip joint). The following fractures are shown:
• Medial femoral neck fracture
• Lateral femoral neck fracture
• Fracture through the trochanteric area (pertrochanteric femur fracture)
• Fracture below the trochanters (subtrochanteric femur fracture)
• Fracture in the area of ​​the columns of the femur (fracture of the femoral shaft)
• Fracture in the area of ​​the head of the femur (femoral head fracture)
• Fracture of the greater trochanter
• Fracture or avulsion of the lesser trochanter (avulsion fracture of the lesser trochanter)
